My name is James Platt with The Platt Services Group, LLC and my friends call me Jim.  My expertise as a general contractor and builder spans more than 56 continuous years in all phases of the construction industry with expert level hands-on experience in residential, commercial and light industrial projects.  I am also an experienced licensed master journeyman plumber and plumbing contractor within the same 50 plus year span of my business life, now retired.

I was first licensed, bonded and insured in October of 1969 both as a plumbing contractor and a general contractor within about a 3-week period and I continue to maintain that continuity to this day under my company The Platt Services Group, LLC. 

Although now retired from active hands-on construction, I continue to use my many years of experience and active on-going research in construction modern-day processes and procedures, to provide consulting services as an expert in construction and plumbing defects.

My services are primarily focused in the pacific northwest states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and California.  However, I do travel and provide case reviews and expert witness construction defects services throughout the United States.

My hands-on trade experiences encompass all areas of general construction and building trades, from structural design through building completion, including direct supervision of all construction sub trades.

Over the past 15 years of my expert witness career, I have opined in more than 85 cases involving construction defects and plumbing related matters, providing testimony in depositions, mediations, arbitrations and court trials 32 times.

I ensure meticulous attention to detail and quality in every project.  I am a trusted resource for legal professionals, insurance companies, and businesses and my standards for forensic investigations, report writing, and cost estimating are built on transparency and accuracy,
